Thomala
Seva or the Bhagavathi Aradhana
-
- Thomala stands for flower
garlands. In this Seva the Lord is richly decorated
- with flower garlands.
This Seva follows after the Visvarupaseva after suddhi
- (cleaning) is performed
in the temple. The suddhi consists of removal of the previous
nights decorations,etc. The flowers are thrown into the step-well
- constructed by Rangadasa
in the Sampangi
Pradakshinam .

- During the Thomala Seva
water is offered to the Lord for his daily ablutions.
- Abhishekam is done to
the gold covers which cover the mula-
vigraham.The abhishekam of Bhoga Srinivasa is done while
appropriate hymns are chanted.
- The Lord's image is
then decorated with several flower garlands

Koluvu
or Durbar
-
- The Durbar of the Koluvu
Srinivasa takes place at this time when the
- previous previous day's
revenue recipts are reported to him.the almanac
- is also read out to
Him.

Sahasranamarchana
-
- During the Sahasranamarchana
, the name sof Lord Vishnu are recited.
- This is an arjitha seva
and only persons who have paid the required fees

Naivedyam

- The Sayana mantapam
is cleaned and cooked food is brought there as
- naivedyam to the Lord.
The Bangaru vakkili doors are then closed and the
- bells in the tirumamani
mantapam are rung. This is usually called the
- 'first bell'of the temple.
Only the Archakas are present in the sanctum at
- this time. Food is offered
at this time to the Lord.Food offerings are also made to Vishvaksena
, Garuda
and the Nitya Suris in the Temple, at this time.

Sathumurai

- The Nalayira Prabandham
is also read out at this time only when Sri
- Vaishnavas are present
in the temple(during naivedyam and Sathumurai).

Dharma
Darshanam
-
- In the afternoon all
pilgrims are allowed free
darshan of the Lord.

The
Madhyana Puja
-
- The Madhyana Puja is
the abbreviated form of worship of the
- Lord in the afternoon.
The Lord's Ashtottaram or 108 names
- of Vishnuare chanted
from the Varaha Puranam are repeated at
- this time.This is an
arjitha seva. A second naivedyam is offered at
- this time to the Lord.

to bed, the ardhajama puja is performed
- when sweets,etc are
offered to the Lord

Ekantha
Seva
-
- Ekantha Seva is a Seva
to which the public are allowed on payment.
- A velvet bed is spread
on a Vuyyala or Swing and sweets ,milk, fruits,
- etc are offered to the
Lord.At this time,songs are also sung.A descendant
- of the Tallapakka poets
also sing kirthans of the Tallapakka
poet.Perfumed chandanam is placed on the chest of Bhoga Srinivasa
as well as Alrmel
- Mangai on the mulavigraham.
After the Ekantha Seva , the temple is closed.

Pulangi
Seva
-
- On Thursdays , however
, there is a special puja called the Pulangi Seva.
- During this puja, the
Mula Murthi is clearly visible as most of the ornaments
- of the Lord are removed.Even
the pacchaikarpuram marks on the eyes and forehead are made thin
during this Seva.Thirumanjanam or abhishekam is
- made on the mula vigraham
on Fridays.This is a function which takes about an hour and is
accompanied by chanting of mantras etc. The abhishekam done to
- the mula-murthi divested
of all ornaments and clothes, except the Alarmel
- Mangai plaque. During
the abhishekam, milk, sandla paste, turmeric etc are
- used. Honey is however
not used for the abhishekam of the mula Vigraham.
- After the bath, civet
oil is applied to the Lord's body.Civet oil is also applied
- daily to the feetof
the Lord.

Sripadarenu
-
- The pacchaikarpuram
and kastuti along with civet oil collected from the Lord's body
forms the sripadarenu prized as a valuable prasadam.
